Went back to Parque España Residence Hotel Alabang where we had our wedding preps last year and attended anticipated mass at Mary Immaculate Conception Nature Church where we got married. We also watched our wedding videos (same-day-edit and wedding highlights) over and over again. Kaiyak lang. Hehe.
Reminiscing at its finest!
Parque Espana surprised us with this gift. They misspelled the last name, though. Hehe. Muchas gracias, Parque Espana!
The most memorable church in the whole world for us!
Watched the wedding videos again and again
Had my bridal photo taken here on this exact spot.

Happy anniversary to us! 49 years to go before our golden wedding anniversary! Hihi.
Exactly a year ago, I received an amazing gift from God. This gift is a lovely daily reminder how blessed and lucky I am. Finally, there’s someone who is able to put up with all my quirks, weirdness and sometimes lame (or too much) humor and lines. Thank you for being a domesticated husband and for always thinking that I am cute even without my make up on or well-combed hair. Happy first year wedding anniversary, my poging Dadi/Ser Chef. I love you more than Adam Lambert and Daniel Matsunaga and I’m sure you know that already. I love you so much!
Dadi is still down with fever. Yes, on the day of our wedding anniversary. We had to cancel our plans for today and re-book our hotel reservation. Hope he gets better tomorrow.
Cheers everyone! Stay happy and in love!
Brunch buffet at Bag of Beans, back to being kids at Sky Ranch, shopping and cholesterol-heavy dinner at Paseo de Sta. Rosa
Colorful bottle decors at Bag of Beans. Love!
Giant Ferris wheel at Sky Ranch
Pasalubong shopping at Rowena’s. Seems like they’re having a sugar rush because of Sylvannas.
Oh hello, Bulalo!
There was also crispy pata, but absent in this photo. Camera shy yata siya.
Thank you for this fun-filled road (and food) trip! Cheers to our 15 years (or more?) of friendship! Love you, mga beks!

Dinner with friends and family
Dinner with college friends. It’s really nice to be with my college bestfriend, Chapot and her husband Marlon and super adorbs baby Ethan, who got back from Canada for the holidays.
Our Christmas selfies/couplies(?) Hehe.
To our family and friends, thank you so much for all the gifts, both material and non-material. We love you!
Opening of gifts under our Hello Kitty Christmas Tree.
Trivia: Dadi surprised me with this Christmas Tree. I’ve always dreamed of having a Christmas Tree like this.
And Dadi gifted me a new bag. He knows how much I’ve been abusing my LC le pliage (in Bilberry) for two years. It’s high time to get a new one. Hihi.

Thank you, Dadi! You’re the best!
Merry Christmas everyone!
We had the annual Lantern Parade last 18 Dec. 2013. This year’s theme of the SLIS Lantern was Labraryanihan. SLIS faculty and students dressed as super heroes and super villains paraded around the academic oval. We’re super heroes saving the world from information illiteracy and disasters, such as Typhoon Yolanda. Sir Igor and I were Shaider and Annie (Mga Pulis Pangkalawakan), and Ma’am Kate was our much loved bonggang villain, Ida. Our costumes and props (Shaider, Annie and Ida) were all DIY-ed. Labor of love (for the School!).
UP Lantern Parade 2013
This gimmick was such a hit, similar to our last year’s storybook characters.
Throwback: Lantern Parade 2012. Dressed as Dorothy and Tin Man of The Wizard Oz.
I wonder what’s in for next year? Hmmm…
Dadi and I ‘tried’ to be academic this time. LOL.
We presented a paper in an international conference, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress in Singapore last 19 August 2013.
At the National Library Board Singapore
With other proud Filipino paper presenters. They’re all UP alumni!
Uma-outfit shot overlooking SG. Hehehe.
Congressman. So, how’s your pork barrel? LOL.
Me about to present.
Woohoo! Go Dadi!
with Dr. Dan Dorner (Victoria University of Wellington) and Dr. Raphaele Mouren (Universite de Lyon), section heads of IFLA Rare/Special Collections in the Asian and Oceanian Context.
We also had a short tour around the National Library Board of Singapore.
I LOOOOOOOOVE their library!
Shelving in style.
I love how they preserve their rare books. Look at those bookshelves/cases!
And here are some interesting ‘words of wisdom’ painted on the windows of the library:
This. Anong paki mo, sa long hair ko?
Let the sepulturero do it for you. Heheh.
And my favorite:
Good thing, ours is not a teenage marriage. It’s even long overdue! Lagpas lagpas pa! LOL.
We had a free post nup shoot with CJ and Jeff of Redscale Studios last May 20, 2013. Berny Tia of Stylemebeautiful recreated my look during my wedding. I was so happy that I could still fit in my gown 4 months after my wedding. Haha!

Some behind-the-scene shots, courtesy of my sister, bridesmaid and DIY-crafts enthusiast, Janine.
We had our prenup shoot some time in December 2012 where everything started….at UP Diliman.
Theater, classroom, library books, sunken garden, UP, taho. XD
Special thanks to:
- Cj Cariola of Redscale Studios for the awesome and nakakasakit-ng-ulo-sa-kakatawa shoot
- Berny Tia of style me Beautiful for the hair and makeup (and taking care of me until the day of my wedding, and even after the wedding during the postnup shoot)
- bridesmaid Daisy Dalina for being my pretty PA, stylist, tagapaypay and tagabili ng tubig
- Ria Zablan of Redscale Studios for lending me her malakas-na-makapornstar eye glasses na may mataas na grado (hehe)
- Manong from the College of Mass Communication for allowing us to hold the shoot in their ‘teatro’ for…wait for it.. for free!
- UP SLIS Library for letting us disturb their silence that afternoon
- SLIS students and tambay who willingly took part and became extras in our shoot. Your acting was superb! Thank you!
Dadi and I are very musical. We’re into different genres of music, maski commercial and campaign jingles pinapatulan namin. So, if you’re asking what our first dance was, we had Regina Spektor’s version of John Lennon’s Real Love as our first “formal” dance as Mr. and Mrs. C. Yes, formal because we were dancing like crazy monkeys during our reception entrance, while my very good friend Kenneth, the person behind the Surat Journals, was singing Enrique Iglesia’s I’ve Finally Found You as we entered the banquet hall. So, eto normal at pormal-pormalan na. For the actual first dance and entrance, they’re in the wedding highlights made by Aisle 1401.
Thanks, Youtube for this:
My sister, best bridesmaid and julalay, Janine (she’s a talented singer, too!) sang it while she’s facing away from us kasi ayaw niya daw tumingin sa amin because she would cry endlessly. Panira ng performance.
Excerpt from the song:
Thought I’d been in love before,
But in my heart I wanted more
Seems like all I really was doing
Was waiting for you
Don’t need to be alone
No need to be alone
It’s real love, yes it’s real love
oh, It’s real love, yes it’s real love
oh, It’s real love, yes it’s real love….
